KW automotive BMW 3-series GT

The new 3-series Gran Turismo (GT) offers more space than the popular 3-series station wagon. For the largest 3-series of the popular BMW model series, KW has already developed coilovers made of stainless steel. From adaptive KW DDC "Plug & Play" coilovers with electronic damper control up to KW coilovers Variant 1, Variant 2 and Variant 3, the suspension manufacturer offers the perfect suspension for every demand. The four coilover kits allow a continuous lowering of 30 to 55 mm at the front axle and 15 to 40 mm on the drive axle. Depending on the variant, the KW coilovers can individually be adjusted by the driver in damping characteristics or they are compatible with the adaptive standard suspension electronics.

With its longer wheelbase compared to the 3-series sedan and 3-series station wagon, the new 3-series GT (F34) provides a never known space offer. With its overall length of 4,824 m, the Gran Turismo is even longer than the 3-series Long version (4,734 m) that is available in China. In addition to the KW Variant 1, Variant 2 and Variant 3, for the new BMW we also have the adaptive KW DDC "Plug & Play" coilovers in program. "This suspension kit made of stainless steel combines the advantages of a KW coilover suspension with the comfort of the optional adaptive BMW damper control", says KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker.

Due to its compatibility with the BMW electronics, only the series shock absorbers have to be replaced by the KW DDC coilovers. Afterwards simply connect the KW plugs with the original BMW plugs and ready. A further installation effort is not necessary. With the BMW button in the center console, drivers can still choose between the BMW driving dampening modes. Of course, the damper characteristics of the DDC coilover kit are designed sporty as KW is known for. "Despite the lowering of up to 55 mm, in Comfort mode a harmonic comfortable setup is in the spotlight that allows a comfortable ride even on poor road surfaces" Johannes Wacker continues. The adaptive KW DDC "Plug and Play" coilovers are only available for BMW models with the optional adaptive series suspension.

BMW 3-series GT in focus: Even more KW coilovers available

In addition to the adaptive KW DDC "Plug & Play" coilover kits, also the three KW coilovers Variant 1, Variant 2 and Variant 3 allow a continuous lowering. The height adjustment is made directly on the dirt-resistant trapezoid thread of the stainless steel strut. At the front, the 3-series GT can be lowered within the German TÜV tested adjustment range by 30 to 55 mm. On the drive axle, the adjustment of the vehicle height is made in the range of 15 to 40 mm via the rear-axle height adjustment.

While the KW coilover kit Variant 1 has fixed damping characteristics with a sporty - harmonic setup, the BMW driver can adjust the rebound damper settings with his Variant 2. "By the rebound valve that is adjustable with 16 clicks, the handling and comfort can be influenced furthermore," said Johannes Wacker. Even more setup options are offered by the KW coilover kit Variant 3 with its adjustment technology. In addition to the rebound, the BMW driver can also adjust the compression damping separately with twelve clicks to influence potential rolling motion of the F34 body without having to change the spring rate which optimally matches the rebound damping.
