The 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe and Eclipse Spyder are two door, four passenger, front wheel drive, high performance luxury Grand Touring/Sports cars. Both Coupe and Spyder are available in two models with distinct engine/transmission combinations. Eclipse Coupe and Eclipse Spyder combine exotic good looks, civilized luxury, superb engineering, outstanding performance and tremendous value.
Large instruments and gauges feature exotic, Ice Blue nighttime illumination. The centre stack features a climate and audio control area that resembles an entertainment interface. The customer may choose from two instrument panel and dash colour schemes. A Sport Touch steering wheel is complemented by a leather wrapped shift knob. Front bucket seats have open headrests for enhanced rear visibility. Standard on Eclipse Coupe GT-P (optional on GS) and standard on all Spyder models is a 650W Rockford Fosgate® premium audio system with 6 disc, in-dash, CD/MP3 player, 9 speakers including an 10" subwoofer (8" in the Spyder), PUNCH® Audio Dynamics, with steering wheel mounted controls. This spectacular sound also features a, unique to Spyder, automatic sound equalization system, for top up or top down driving. Additional standard features for GT-P models include automatic climate control, leather front seating surfaces, adjustable 6 way power driver's seat, aluminum pedals, and 18" Lipless multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Optional Extra Cost Package
The Eclipse Spyder Top – Once activated the automatic power top folds completely out of sight, underneath a flush fitting powered tonneau cover. The entire operation, from start to totally hidden, takes about 19 seconds. Viewed from the side there is no unsightly "baby buggy bump", just a graceful profile. Spyder's top is made of woven cloth and its advanced multilayer construction includes a full headliner which provides a cozy, snug, quiet feeling when raised. It is engineered to resist ballooning at speed and to provide a quiet environment. It also features a glass rear window with a defroster.
