Nissan Fuga 350GT

The Fuga is available with either the next-generation 3.5-liter VQ35DE V6 engine or the newly developed 2.5-liter VQ25DE V6. The VQ35DE engine provides quick throttle response and smooth, powerful acceleration, bringing a new level of driving exhilaration to the luxury segment. The VQ25DE engine delivers linear torque with outstanding responsiveness owing to its higher intake and exhaust efficiencies.

Built on Nissan's advanced FM (Front Mid-ship) package, the Fuga was engineered to offer both supple ride comfort and superb handling, thanks to its increased body frame rigidity, a newly developed double-wishbone front suspension and new shock absorbers. The new shock absorbers incorporate a new dual-flow-path construction, the first of its kind in the world.

The model's large-diameter 19-inch 245/40R19 94W tires also contribute to the car's ride comfort, while its Rear Active Steering (RAS) provides quick, agile response at low- to- medium speeds on winding roads. RAS also provides high stability when changing lanes on expressways without any after-sway.

The Fuga's electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode incorporates a newly developed synchronized engine speed control for responsive, sporty driving performance when shifting manually. The sedan also features a newly developed adaptive shift control that improves driving comfort by automatically selecting the optimum gear when cornering or when traveling uphill or downhill.

Interior Comfort:

The Fuga is more spacious than its competitors due to its 1,880-mm effective interior length. The result is more front/rear seat headroom and more rear seat knee room/leg room.

For added comfort, the model has been fitted with a new mild-flow air-conditioning system. The system has a special duct on top of the dashboard, which directs a gentle airflow rearward without striking passengers directly. At the same time, air-conditioned front seats discharge warm or cool air from the seat cushion and the seat back, further enhancing the vehicle's comfort.

Other convenient features include a personal driving position memory system and a DVD-based TV/navigation system that is compatible with Nissan's CARWINGS telematics service.

The personal driving position memory system recognizes the driver on the basis of his or her Intelligent Key ID and automatically adjusts the driving position to the person's preference.

The new navigation system offers Nissan's fastest-route guidance and CARWINGS' 24-hour live operator service, a service first introduced on the all-new Tiida hatchback in September, and the first of its kind in the world. The system is easier to operate thanks to the adoption of Bluetooth® hands-free call functionality. (Bluetooth and the Bluetooth logo are registered trademarks of Bluetooth SIG, Inc. of the U.S.)

To accentuate the model's comfort and luxuriousness, special attention has been paid to detail, including the use of metallic highlights on the steering, shift knob and clock. The car also features a  "solar eclipse"  gauge illumination and an engine starter that hints at the car's powerful performance.

In addition, the Fuga has been fitted with a 5.1 channel, 14-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system, designed exclusively for the model.

The Fuga is available in five different interior colors to appeal to a variety of tastes.

State-of-the-Art Safety and Convenience Technology:

The Fuga is the first Nissan model to adopt Nissan's Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system with low-speed following capability. Unlike conventional Adaptive Cruise Control, which only allows for high-speed following mode, ICC automatically switches between high- and low-speed following modes, reducing the driver's workload even in congested traffic. The low-speed capability maintains a preset distance to the vehicle ahead in the same lane, at speeds below 40 km/h.

The model's crystal blue projector xenon headlamps improve driver visibility at night. The lamps have a wide illumination range and feature Nissan's Active Adaptive Front-lighting (AFS) System, which changes the lamps' beam direction when the driver turns at intersections.

Standard safety equipment on all Fuga models includes front-seat Active Head Restraints, dual SRS airbag systems for the driver and front passenger, and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC). In addition, SRS side airbag systems for the driver and front passenger and SRS curtain airbag systems are available on all models as options.

The model also comes with a sensor-supported Intelligent Brake Assist system to help prevent collisions. The system sounds a warning and applies the brakes when the sensor determines that a crash may occur.

The model also features an improved shock-absorbing body that helps mitigate pedestrian head and leg injuries in the event of an accident.

Environmental Performance:

All Fuga models are certified as ultra-low emission vehicles (U-LEVs) because they emit 50% fewer nitrogen oxide (NOx) and non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) emissions than the levels mandated by Japan's 2005 exhaust emission regulations.

Models fitted with the 2.5-liter V6 engine are certified as achieving Japan's 2010 fuel economy standards plus an additional 5%, making them eligible for tax reductions under the government's Green Tax program.
