Really good mixes are always only as good as their individual ingredients - as the tuning experts at AC Schnitzer well know. So they've developed their own unique recipe for the BMW 4-series Gran Coupé which perfectly combines the sporting performance of a coupé with the comfort of a saloon. The result is a vehicle which forms a perfect symbiosis in both style and engineering.
Technically, the 4-series Gran Coupé by AC Schnitzer comes with various performance upgrades. In the AC Schnitzer version, the BMW 428i develops 294 hp, and the BMW 435i transmits a powerful 360 hp through the wheels to the asphalt. The export version of the BMW 420i now offers 245 hp whereas before, only 184 hp lined up at the start.
In diesel format, after optimisation in the Aachen workshops, the BMW 420d now delivers 218 hp. Its big brothers the 430d and 435d contribute 309 and 360 hp respectively to the successful mix by AC Schnitzer. An intercooler (for petrol engines) and AC Schnitzer engine styling are available for all versions.
In harmony with the performance upgrades, aural highlights are provided by the throaty sound of the AC Schnitzer silencer with two chromed tailpipe trims, which comes in a choice of "Racing Evo", "Racing" or "Sport" style, in right/left combination. All are available individually on the à la carte house menu, and can be ordered immediately.
With the AC Schnitzer suspension variants, the 4-series Gran Coupé takes the combination of comfort and sporting performance to a whole new level of driving pleasure. The sports suspension is a first-class setup, lowering the front axle by 10 - 25 mm and the rear by 5 - 15 mm. The AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit also lowers the 4-series by up to 25 mm at the front and brings the rear 10 - 25 mm closer to the ground. Spirited cornering becomes even more fun thanks to the AC Schnitzer racing suspension (adjustable in compression and rebound stages) with 30 - 40 mm lowering on the front and 25 - 40 mm on the rear.
The tuning package from the Aachen experts also shows its sporting credentials in the bodystyling. The AC Schnitzer front spoiler and rear diffusor (for vehicles both with and without M-Technik pack) provide better ground adhesion. The carbon mirror covers, chromed front grille (for M-Technik vehicles) and rear skirt protective film show that AC Schnitzer has again found the right recipe for the 4-series Gran Coupé in terms of sporting performance and comfort.
The interior trim package shows that even comfort offers room for improvement. The AC Schnitzer aluminium handbrake handle in "Black Line" style, the gear knob with digital gear display, the illuminated leather gear knob or the aluminium "Black Line" gear knob spice up the mix elegantly in the interior. And if you want even more refinement, there are the AC Schnitzer aluminium pedal set and foot rest, AC Schnitzer keyholder and foot mats in velours.
The AC Schnitzer recipe for the BMW 4-series Gran Coupé is given a finishing touch with exclusive wheelsets. Here the Aachen tuners offer a choice of four different "flavours" with corresponding tyres: Type VIII forged alloys in BiColor, Type VIII rims in BiColor (black, silver or anthracite), Type IV wheels in silver or BiColor, and Type IV rims in BiColor black.
